Hello, my name is Ayana, and I am addicted to Greek mythology. Question for you:

Q: What do unicorns eat for breakfast?

A: Greek yogurt.

Greek mythology is really exciting, has many twists you wouldn’t expect, and helps you use your imagination with a sense of creativity. Today, we are going to talk about the best Greek Mythology books, the 10 Greek gods and goddesses, and what each of their powers are. Hopefully you won’t get a headache from me blabbing about Greek mythology! Let’s get started.

Some great Greek mythology books I would highly recommend for kids are Percy Jackson and The Olympians and Hour Of The Olympics. When the use of Greek mythology is involved in stories, it really shapes out how the story will turn out, with your own creativity included.

The Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series is the most famous of Greek mythology books for kids on account of the movies. The stories are full of action as Percy Jackson, a kid with ADHD and dyslexia, learns that he is a hunted kid because his father is a Greek god of seas, earthquakes and horses, Poseidon. He goes on crazy adventures, including fighting different gods or goddesses just because of a quest that saves his dad and Zeus from one of the biggest arguments in Greek mythology history. I couldn’t put the book down when I was reading!

Hour of the Olympics. This book is part of The Magic Treehouse series. This book is filled with adventure like all the books Osborne has written and helps young children (ages 6–9) understand Greek mythology better. Annie, one of the main characters, breaks the Greek god’s rules, and tries to attend the Greek god’s all men sport;s event, which was interesting because I would do that too, if I were Annie! How about you?

Q: What did Ancient Greeks wear on the court?

A: Tennis Zeus (Get it, because Zeus sounds like ‘shoes’…..)

That brings me to the first most important Greek god! Zeus, the leader of the gods, in charge of rain and the sky. Poseidon, the god of the sea. Aphrodite, the goddess of love. Honestly, many people like Aphrodite, but she is not in my favor because she’s too lovey dovey in my opinion, though she does have an interesting back story. Hades, the god of the Underworld, where the dead lived. Hades is my favorite God because of his dark vibes! Ares, god of war and battle. Not my favorite, though I do like war. Apollo, god of music, poetry, art, prophecy, truth, archery, plague, healing, sun and light. He simply just has too many abilities I can’t remember myself. Demeter is the goddess of harvest. My favorite, because I do have a connection with gardening, and I love to harvest and grow plants! Athena is the goddess of strategy. Also one of my favorites! She sounds smart! Dionysus is the god of wine. The only thing I have to say about this one is that I do not drink wine, so yeah. Artemis is the goddess of hunting. I’m the Queen of Animal Rights, but let’s make this one an exception, because I, all caps LOVE Artemis!

Q: Who did Artemis invite to her party?

A: Her DEER-est friends. Get it, because deer was an animal held sacred to Artemis, and Artemis is a huntress…

Alright, it’s the end of this one friends! See you around! Bye!
