American Chinese Food

By Fabiola The meal I had today was so delicious! I had so much fun writing about the food and about the 5 senses. American food is very delicious to eat because American food can be incredible/amazing/delicious at the same time. Also people could make the best popular foods in a different way from other foods. Including, it could be hot dogs/cakes/rice/dumplings and buns made out of bread. American cuisine can also be brought for different cuisines that are different foods to popular foods in my opinion.

Corn

By Rafael Cox Eat It You were in the streets. You were starving and you saw a food stand, you bought the yummiest looking food on the menu. You said to the cook, “I would like corn on the cob.” You took one bite and you were in love. You said that corn on the cob was the best thing that ever happened to you, and you were right. History Corn was an essential to Native American culture. In fact, Native Americans created corn using selective breeding corn’s ancestor, a wild grass called teosinte. Native Americans might be better farmers than modern ones, wow.

Croissant

By Jeremiah Cantrell The croissant was created by August Zang sometime around 1838 or 1839. Marie Antoinette, queen of France popularized the croissant when she wanted her favorite dish from her homeland in Austria. Croissants are not hard to make, they just take a long time to make because they are made with a dough called laminated dough which has 1000 layers. In my opinion, American food is food that came from other countries. Foods like burgers or french fries came from other countries. So, next time when you eat a croissant, think about how much it went through to come to America.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

By Ayana Alamgir Chocolate chip cookies were born by mistake! Ruth Wakefield was the inventor. One day, while baking a batch of Butter Drop Do cookies, she added chopped up chunks of a semi sweet chocolate bar. She thought it would create solid chocolate cookies. But that didn’t go as planned, and a star was born! A chocolate chip cookie! The chocolate chip cookie, originally called the “Toll House Crunch Cookie”, recipe was published in a Boston newspaper and quickly became one of America’s favorites. When you bite into a chocolate chip cookie, it’s chewy and doughy with semi sweet chocolate chunks that stick to your teeth that washes down perfectly with a crystal clear glass of milk. Yum!
